Sunday Mornings...
Sunday mornings can be so hectic. James has early morning meetings and we try to pack snacks and the right equipment for a day at church. But my favorite part is dressing the boys. It's really the only day they wear an outfit. (and even then I'm not that great at it)
Here is Hudson in a great vest from kelly and dave...thanks guys, and some hand-across pants from his cousin Andrew.

Worker....
Miles has decided that he wants to be a "worker" when he grows up. We have construction happening all around us in the neighborhood and James and Miles like to sneak onto the construction sites to see what they are doing, or play in piles of dirt. James always tells him that they have to wait for the workers to go home.

Here is Miles practicing his skills. Yep, there is actually paint on that little roller. He did a great job helping Dad spruce up the posts out front. Hopefully it will help the house sell.

Hudson is 6 Months Old!!!!!
No, my little man STILL doesn't sleep through the night, and its not even close.....but he's all smiles, giggles (and whines) during the day. So we are surviving without sleep.
But, on to more important matters.....the Hudson turned 6 months old while we were visiting my family in Utah. The day after we got home the nurse did this to my boy....

Poor thing. Three shots and an oral vaccine. It was not a fun outing for him. And look how skinny his legs are getting! If you go back to 3 months old, you would agree with me. :) His stats were great. He is healthy and strong. He weighs 19 pounds 11 ounces (77th percentile) and 29.25 inches (98th percentile) and I forget his head circumference....poor second child.

His favorite thing is Miles, and if he can't get to him he will try to take any toy within reach and force it into his mouth. Dad comes in a close second as the fav, when James gets home he tries to jump out of my arms to get to him.

Exhibit A

Exhibit A
He can roll, and scream, His laugh is so infectious and low compared to his extremely high pitched squeals. He has two bottom teeth and I am assuming from the amount of drool he has, that there are more on the way. He fell in love with his Popop on our trip to Utah. My Dad looked so tan and brown every time he was holding my little gingerbread man. No sitting yet, but we do see the occasional scoot. He can get himself on all fours, but it usually sends him backwards rather than forwards. He keeps us laughing, just like Miles does. Life is Good.

Aunt Recie
For the past few weeks we have been lucky to have Great Aunt Recie staying in Savannah. Miles has had so much fun with her and of course is in love with her dog Wookie. On the phone the other day he told her how much he missed her and then said....I miss your dog too.

Here we are on an extremely hot summer day and Miles is giving Aunt Recie a really good arm work out.

She kept saying that she didn't want to get splashed, but she exited the pool soaked.

Thanks for coming and spending time with us. We love you. xoxox

Cakes
Here is a cute baby shower cake that I did for a "glamorous" mama to be. It was really fun deciding what she would be carrying around in her bag. But I am embarrassed to say that I got so caught up in those little things that I didn't even make a strap for the bag itself....I mean, how is that going to work? no strap?
I loved my little baby shoes and the pearl necklace on the rubber ducky. She's a fancy rubber ducky. ;)
...and yes, I live in a military town. My neighbor Christine just retired from the military and asked me to make her a cake. I thought for days about what I would do and how I would craft together the boots and paraphernalia. Thank goodness I did.......
Because, the week James was out of town I got a very last minute order from someone and was happy that I already knew how to make some army boots and a duffel. :)
Now this is obviously not a "how to" tutorial. I don't think I have the patience for that kind of thing. But here is a little peek at the process behind some of these cake. I tried to remember to take pictures, but I would just get working and distracted and then be done. Maybe next time there will be more.
