I Heart Florida.

I have said it before, and I will say it again.....My Parents are the greatest! They met James, Miles and I in Florida for five days last week. It was such a cute little town. To steal my Dad's words "very margaritaville" We had beautiful weather even if it was a little breezy one day. We took Miles to the ocean, the pool, the zoo and he loved it all. At home now we have his sand bucket and shovel in the bath so he can keep "digging". He had no fear of the water and loved splashing the waves and being chased by them. There was a lagoon right out in front of our cottage and he loved the water so much he would have just jumped off the ledge to get there. My Dad was able to go fishing almost everyday (there is a cute picture of him walking off the dock in front of our cottage) and took James fishing on Saturday. James got so sun burnt, but my Dad just gets really brown. ;-) Don't worry, the picture of the spider isn't real. My mom and I came home to it on her pillow.....my Dad had put it there before he went fishing. My mom and I thought we were going to have to move hotels! We had such a great time and are so grateful that they helped us escape a little bit of the Philadelphia winter.
love you guys and can't wait to see you in La Jolla!!!! oxox

Busy Busy Busy....

Yep, that's what we are....busy.
Miles got tubes put in his ears this week. It was so sad. By the time he was finally going to be seen (about 1 1/2 hours after admissions) he was exhausted, and starving from not haven eaten anything since the day before. He hated having the identification band on his wrist, getting his blood pressure checked, and even getting his clothes changed. (They put him in this orange sherbet colored pair of jammies...oh man, I wanted to keep them, but they insisted that we change him before taking him home.) They gave him an oral dose of Valium to calm him down so they could take him without him freaking out, and it was the strangest thing when it kicked in, it was like he just disappeared. He kind of glazed over and relaxed, not even minding that they were wheeling his bed in the opposite direction from us....it literally gave me a sick feeling in my stomach to see him like that.
When the procedure was over I was able to go back and meet him. He was crying hard before I even got there, and insisted on being picked up. He threw a mini-fit when I had to put him back in the bed to be wheeled to the recovery room. We had to wait there for thirty minutes before we could leave. Miles screamed while they took his vitals and thrashed around while we changed his clothes. It just made me so sad for him. He was confused and scared. He wanted to walk around, but he was still too dizzy from the anesthetic to walk on his own.
When we got him home he was still out of sorts. He couldn't seem to relax to fall asleep, and he fell a few times as he wriggled his way out of our hands to get to the ground and tried to walk. I hated it. Finally he seemed exhausted, and we gave him a bottle (even though we were told only clear liquids....oops) and he napped. After that, he seemed much more like himself. Thank goodness! He is fine now, but hates the ear drops that we have to give him 2x a day.
We showed the house for the first time today...twice. And have three more people scheduled in the next two days. We were brave enough to ask for feedback from our first two viewers and they seemed to really like it. Hopefully it means we will get an offer soon. :) So we have been primping the house...putting the mascara on it if you will. I color coded all our clothes, and alphabetized our spices....I know I know, you are surprised they weren't already that way. But I like my clothes done by sleeve length and not color, and I prefer my spices according to frequency of use, so I had to change it to a more visually appealing way. Even though MY way is obviously more functional. ;-)
No pictures to post, sorry.
