After

We finally got around to painting, and it is starting to feel like home. We still have a lot of work to do....the annoying little stuff like painting trim and putting down bead board, but the bulk of the work feels behind us. We still haven't even touched two of the bedrooms, and I think we are going to repaint our room even though we painted it a few months ago when we were first here......oh the joys of owning a home: the work is neverending!

A Sneak Peek

We have been doing so much work around the house its crazy. But the most exciting thing thus far has been the landscaping! This is our first yard ever so it was really fun to decide what we wanted to plant....keeping in mind that I have no idea how to take care of anything.

My husband working hard to get things ready. I laughed when I heard him talking to a friend the other night saying how relaxing and easy it is around here. He and I have such different ideas of relaxing. ;-)

Here is the big one....so cute huh! We are thrilled to live somewhere that we can have palm trees. As you can probably tell from the next picture....

Don't worry, I will post more when the project is complete. I would like my parents to notice the adorable red tricycle that we got for Miles. He LOVES it, but refuses to pedal. I am sure it will come along.

Savannah!

I know that I have been on hiatus from blogging, but I am just going to start where we are now, and then revisit the high notes of the summer later.....so
We finally found some time today to head into Savannah and see our "big city" around the corner. It was really charming with a cobblestone street along the water. But I think we will have to do some research before we head out the next time....since we had no idea where we were going.

Here are my boys in front of the Georgia Queen. I don't know if it takes trips up the river, or if its just there for show, but it really has that southern charm you expect.

Cute little boat fro Miles to play in. The town is really kid friendly and dog friendly (not that we have one, but my inlaws brought their chihuahua with them everywhere they went while they were here.)

Such a gorgeous suspension bridge. I wish my camera picked it up better, but I think you get the idea of the views down the river.

Washington's guns that he gave Savannah. Miles got a kick out of those ones. Its so pretty here, but MAN is it HOT! James and Miles don't seem to mind one bit, but I just can't handle the heat. I am excited for the falls and winters, and am trying to keep the complaining to a minimum since I know I'll be happy with he mild weather the rest of the year.
