Elizabeth and Owen were married in Cape Cod on the last day of summer. It was such a fabulous event overflowing with love, joy and laughter. They were surrounded by their closest friends and family, and you could feel all the love radiating from everyone. The weekend was incredible. All of the guests received welcome baskets filled with treats and snacks the day we arrived. We had an incredible lobster dinner after the rehearsal thanks to Owen's parents. Then the day of the wedding was a whirlwind of events. Topped off with incredible food...sea scallops, gorgonzola baskets, oysters, clams, lobster claws, miniature 5-guys burgers, lobster ravioli, beef tenderloin, and then tons of sweet treats, my favs being the caramel corn, and the cupcakes that were decorated with gold butterflies. The whole event was so beautiful, but nothing topped the smiles from the bride and groom. Good luck and congratulations! I adore you both!

Update...
So just to update anyone who was interested, on Miles' "bites"....they were not bites at all. My mom brilliantly suggested that I email a picture to my Uncle Lenny who is an ER doctor. He says that they looked like erythma multiple lesions which basically means redness caused by a viral infection.
I feel so badly that I didn't see the signs that he was sick. I think that since he has been getting in all 4...yep ALL 4, of his molars I have been blaming his irritability on teething. I wouldn't have been able to do anything for him since it was a virus and just needed to run its course, but I am sure I would have been a lot more sympathetic had I thought he was sick and not just being ornery. the only thing I can attribute this all to (besides the possible unhygienic child at the park) is our Labor Day trip to the lake. Miles was having a blast in the water and did a face plant or two, so perhaps that was it. All in all, things are back to normal. My child is happy and healthy again, and I am no longer in search of weird bugs in his room.

First Trip to the Zoo!!!!
We recently had some new young couples move into our little tiny branch....hooray for that. One of the girls invited Miles and I to a day at the zoo. She has a season pass that gets one other adult in for free and our kids were free since they were under two. I was so excited for Miles to see all of the animals. I imagined him getting so excited and saying "dog" over and over again. (Since that is what he calls all the animals he sees)

Here is Miles checking out one of the leopards. The zoo wasn't too crowded so we were able to get up close to most of the exhibits. Miles didn't really get too excited or notice all the animals. It was almost like he didn't know they were real.

He liked the otters as they swam by and thought that the geese that were roaming around uncaged through the park were pretty cool. I made him steer clear of them because they were a little agressive. Overall it was a great trip and I hope that we get to go again soon.

Bites?!
Poor Miles got something crazy on his leg on Sunday. Luckily our friend Clar was over (who is a nurse) who could reassure us that it didn't seem to serious. He had bites like these on his one thigh and then a rash on that same foot. We cleaned out his room and washed his bedding hoping to get rid of whatever caused it.

Unfortunately this picture was taken on Tuesday....second round of bites. We did the same thing.....cleaned his room, cleaned his sheets, but this time James found a small spider under the chair, so hopefully this will be the end. I am not really allergic to bites so I was really worried, but I guess for some people they can be really sensitive. I know James ends up with mosquito bites the size of quarters, while mine are little tiny dots. Poor little Miles.

Happy Anniversary!

OK, so since my fabulous sister Jen posted about my anniversary I guess I probably should. We were married 5 years ago last Friday (Sept 5th). Great day! Great parents for planning everything; since we were living in Santa Barbara at the time! Great man that I married! Great 5 years....can't wait for the adventures to come. :)

Labor Day!

Ok, so I know that it is not Labor Day, but this is just how behind I am in blogging any pictures.

We had a great time with friends at a Lake about 45 minutes away. Miles loved the water and throwing rocks to make a splash...he did not like the 2-man raft that the Nelsons brought.

I think this pic is funny since it looks like the ball has been digitally put in.

My big boy....isn't he getting so big!!!

Our Little Jedi.

Miles always likes to "help" me with the laundry. He really is just pulling everything out of the basket while I am trying to fold them. Its a little more hectic now that he is bigger. He was getting in and out of the basket and I was doing all I could to keep the things folded so I decided to put him in one of James' t-shirts (well to be honest its Dave Troutman's old t-shirt that he gave to James)

Who knew he would love it sooo much! He didn't want to take it off. It was pretty adorable in the end.

What Year Do You Belong In?
You Belong in 1957 |
![]() You're fun loving, romantic, and more than a little innocent. See you at the drive in! |
I was really suprised...innocent? hmmmm, I don't know. But I do like the 50's so I guess I will go with it. I'd love to hear how others made out...
