11 weeks and counting...

I decided to try to take a few pictures of Hudson since I am already guilty of slacking in that department.

Upclose and personal. I am hoping those eyes stay blue, but who knows.

We started on his back on the carpet in James' "office". I use that term loosely since we don't do anything that requires an office.

Then I changed it up and put little man on his belly. Its amazing how different his little face looks. This didn't last long since this happened next....

Yep.

Picking Bluberries

In the fall James planted these tiny little blueberry bushes in the front yard. I was a little skeptical that we would see any real berries but spring is here and so are they, ripe and ready to eat.

Miles was enjoying a little after breakfast snack this morning.

Yummy! We kept trying to tell him not to pick the ones that weren't ripe, but its hard for a two year old to resist pulling anything off of a plant.

My boys and I. Miles was wiping the blueberries off on his shirt...not the best tactic since we ended up with some blueberry stains. Ooops.

So much fun to have two, they couldn't be more different. Hudson's little outfit was a hand me down from my sister Amanda's friend Hiedi. Amanda's husband John deemed it too girly for their little boy Andrew to wear....hmmmm I think its adorable! Perfect for my gingerbread.

Not much better than....

A redhead wearing orange! This cute little number is from my friend Kayleen. I adore the color orange already, but now it is all I am looking for with Hudson and his ginger.

He is getting so big! I can't believe he is ten weeks old already. I kept thinking that by three months I would have him on a schedule, and perhaps he would be sleeping through the night....that only gives me two weeks, so I better get working on it. As of now he is still up every three hours to eat at night, and I have NO idea what to expect from my days.

I had to get a little close up of all those bubbles he was blowing. What's that about?

An O so glamorous photo of me with no makeup and greasy pulled back hair. Miles is really stretching his neck long so he looks so skinny, and Hudson is about to yawn. We have nothing to hide. This is us most days. Everyone is happy even though we might look like a raggamuffin crew.
We are starting to really enjoy our little spot in Georgia. Miles and James head to the pool almost every afternoon. I love watching Miles play in the back yard with our little lagoon as his backdrop. James is taking advantage of every opportunity at work to learn as much as possible and he is enjoying his situation there. We of course wish we were closer to our families, but hopefully that will come in time. We have felt so blessed that so many were able to come out and meet Hudson and in a few weeks I will be taking the boys (with the help of my sister Jen) up to see Great Grandma Checchio. We are so excited!

More Cakes...

So I survived my weekend with all those cakes. The deliveries were so much smoother than I expected they could be, and the boys did a great job for James. I think Miles was asleep most of the time that I was out.

Don't be fooled by the colors...this is a wedding cake. The original design I created while in Philadelphia. It was in black and white and had a little bit of a different pattern on it. I made it thinking of my sister Jen. The bride saw it and loved it, but her colors were hot pink and black and we tweeked the pattern to mimic some of the patterns from her dress.

Here is a cute golf ball groom's cake. I like my little alligator hiding in behind the ball....that was Miles' favorite part too.

This pink "betty crocker" style cake accompanied the golf ball. It was sweet and simple. I put some fondant butterflies on it when I arrived and it got some hydrangea clusters on it.
Its always a little bit of a challenge doing it all from my kitchen, but hopefully these cakes get me a few more orders to keep me busy.

A little of Miles lately

Miles in his "work goggles" Just look at those ears!

Picasso in the making. We got this great art easel from our friend Amber. Miles has loved painting, and the white board has been so fun to practice his letter and reading skills.

You can see he tried to paint Miles. The L turned out really well, and he started his E OK, but we still have a ways to go.

James and Miles have discovered some fabulous HUGE dirt piles in one of the new constructions down the street. The dump truck drops them off and my boys go running. They jump and roll and kick all over in the mountain of soft dirt. Don't worry that they went again on Sunday in Miles' white (yes white) church shorts. I was fuming afterwards because they are pretty much ruined, but Miles was thrilled so really its not worth it to be mad.

A few cakes....

A black and white wedding cake with a little modern twist. I love the shape of this cake, its one of my favorites. But all those corners makes it really hard to ice.

The grooms cake was of course non other than the Georgia Bull Dog. I am sure this won't be the last one that I do while living here.

Baby shower for the Army Wives group. I think the next time around I would arrange the letters differently on the blocks. The word Baby is a little difficult to read.

I feel so lucky to be able to continue doing this from home. I have two more wedding cakes this weekend...wish me luck. :)
