No complaining....at least I am posting.

I can't post without a picture, so here is Miles pretending to be a dentist like his Daddy and Grandpa.

I know, I know. I haven't posted in forever, and considering the amount of things that we have done in the past month (graduation for James, getting sworn in as a captain, adorable cakes being made, Miles counting to 5 on his own) but this is what I have to say.

Yesterday Miles went pee pee in the potty for the first time.....then proceeded to poop on the floor. Hahahahaha. Good times in parenting. He got an M&M for going #1 and then I didn't know how to respond when he did the other thing. Any tips on potty training?

A much needed haircut

Man, this kid can grow some great hair! I hate cutting it, but it was definitely time. It isn't the most even haircut a kid can get, but I don't think he cares any which way.

In other news....I am FINALLY trying to stop bottles at naptime. He doesn't seem to mind at all so far, but I am trying to get him to drink the same amount of milk when he is awake. He doesn't really like it, so when my friend Carrie mentioned what she did, I thought I would give it a try. Now this may sound weird but she does half milk, half orange juice. I almost gagged when she said it, but then she compared it to an orange julius, or a creamsicle and it made me feel better. Today is our first try with that and it seems to be a big hit! Hooray! Calcium and Vitamin C at the same time. Excellent.

Cupcakes

Last week Miles and I made chocolate cupcakes together. He was so excited when I gave him his spatula, I was sure I was in for some trouble,

but he took his duties stirring very seriously as you can see.

This is what happened when I asked for a smile....what a cheeseball!

SOLD!

Yep, today we sold our house. Its official, signed and sealed! It is so surreal that we don't own the house anymore, that we can't go back and have a BBQ. We are so excited that it is done, and so sad to say goodbye to our first home. Bye House!

New Ward

So we left our sweet little branch this week for the new ward. It isn't all new since we actually started their originally. It was one ward, then split into two. So there were some familiar faces which is nice, and we have some great friends in the ward. We miss the friends we made in our branch, and we both missed having our callings. Miles missed being able to run around in Primary with all those beautiful kids, and dare I say he hated nursery. At first we dropped him off and he was so overcome by all the toys he didn't even notice us when we tried to say goodbye. And then there he was, crying being held by Terra as she walked into Sunday School to get us. I tried to stay in there with him for a little while, and then send him out on his own, but it was just moments before he realized I wasn't there. Needless to say, we will keep trying, but it wasn't the smooth transition I was hoping for.
I think he was still nervous when we got home, because we put him down for a nap and when he woke up James went to go get him and he kept crying for me. James gave him to me and the craziest thing happened, something that hasn't happened since he was a little baby....he fell asleep right next to me. Sooo sweet! I enjoyed every moment of our little nap together. Just as long as he doesn't make a habit of needing me to sleep. ;-)

I am so excited.....

to have the Internet again!!!!!
We just moved to our temporary apartment last weekend and have been having so many issues with the cable company. They were scheduled to come on Saturday, but the guy said he couldn't do it, then the re-schedule on Monday didn't show, the Tuesday guy finally hooked everything up!!!! Hallelujah, or so we thought....this morning we wake up to no cable and the line from the house is broken and swaying in the street! Ooops! After calling 4 times finally the guy shows up tonight at 6:30 PM, to say that he has to do everything over because the person who originally installed it did it all wrong!!! I mean, seriously! I have nothing to do when Miles naps! My books are in storage, no TV, no Internet, new apartment with nothing to clean, no laundry, no nothing!!! I was going to lose my mind. So despite the fact that the guy that just left was a total creep and I felt like I couldn't get him to leave, I am thrilled!

A friend posted this on her blog already, but since she is private I felt the need to share it with others. So click here for a good laugh, and a very memorable proposal.

I Heart Florida.

I have said it before, and I will say it again.....My Parents are the greatest! They met James, Miles and I in Florida for five days last week. It was such a cute little town. To steal my Dad's words "very margaritaville" We had beautiful weather even if it was a little breezy one day. We took Miles to the ocean, the pool, the zoo and he loved it all. At home now we have his sand bucket and shovel in the bath so he can keep "digging". He had no fear of the water and loved splashing the waves and being chased by them. There was a lagoon right out in front of our cottage and he loved the water so much he would have just jumped off the ledge to get there. My Dad was able to go fishing almost everyday (there is a cute picture of him walking off the dock in front of our cottage) and took James fishing on Saturday. James got so sun burnt, but my Dad just gets really brown. ;-) Don't worry, the picture of the spider isn't real. My mom and I came home to it on her pillow.....my Dad had put it there before he went fishing. My mom and I thought we were going to have to move hotels! We had such a great time and are so grateful that they helped us escape a little bit of the Philadelphia winter.
love you guys and can't wait to see you in La Jolla!!!! oxox
