La Jolla

We had an amazing time in La Jolla. It is our home away from home, and I wish we could have stayed longer. We were able to spend time with almost all of my family (except for Joey who is in Spain doing a study abroad). We had beautiful weather except for one cooler day, and we tried to get Miles to enjoy the outside...but there were a lot of changes for him.
Here we are at Cove beach on Wednesday. See how cute he is smiling.

Well, this is how he was really feeling. He didn't love the sand and yet didn't want to be held, so it was tough having him on the beach.

My sister Amy was such a trooper. She would try to steal Miles away so that I could have a few minutes of relaxation. Miles was a tad attached to me during the trip, since there were so many new faces. The second he saw me he would start crying, it was such a funny cry, not all too convincing.

After trying out the beach for a while, we headed up to Scripps Park. It is just up the stairs from the Cove and across the street from our hotel.

The grass was so nice James said that people could golf on it. Not like the "grass" here in Philly that has cigarette butts and little pieces of glass scattered throughout it.

as you can see Miles was having a much better time up here. Probably becuase James was tossing him around like a rag doll and letting him run all over trying to catch the pigeons.

I think he looks like a little Gilligan in his sun hat.

Here are some of my favorite pictures from the trip...that aren't of Miles :)

My niece Taylor Rose and my Mom are on the grass posing for Trace who is behind the camera on this shot.

My nephew Tate being silly and wearing Miles' sun hat. Check out that gap in the front. He worked that tooth out all by himself.

Both of these shots were taken really early in the morning. Miles was three hours ahead, so he thought he should wake up around 3AM (yeah for us!) James was sweet enough to take him for a walk one morning so that I could stay asleep in bed.....How jealous are you that I have a husband like that!

Just in Time

Ahhhhh... La Jolla

So we here at the Dayley household had a nasty run of the stomach flu last week. I got it starting Monday, Miles got it around Wednesday and James topped it off by getting it Saturday Morning. I am glad to say that I think the worst is over and it couldn't be at a better time. We leave for San Diego tomorrow morning to vacation with my fabulous family and I couldn't be more excited. Of course, I could do without the 7 hour flight to get there....wish us luck!

Friday Flashback!

Anna's Bakery. I wish I had taken more digital pictures so I could show you some more of my favorite people. Here we are on some random afternoon. Ada, Marisela, Monica, Me and one of my fabulous bosses Lisa.

Here are Lisa and Monica. One trying to make their chest larger and the other trying to cover up. We were always having a great time, even when things were crazy busy.

I loved my job so much, the only thing that made me want to leave was James...and sometimes I just asked him to come there and hang out while I worked. I got to work with my best friends, in a beautiful place, with bosses that were willing to work right along side you. I am so grateful for that experience and I miss them all dearly. Love you guys!!!

So my friend Dani is a rock star and she got a 96 with no incorrect words. I am sure you can beat me, but can you beat her?

Miles on the Run!

This is right before Miles decided to get the flu. We were having so much fun getting ready for bath time, hence the rushing water noise in the background. Miles was thinking he could run up and down the halls. He only does this kind of stuff with James. It's as if he saves up a bundle of energy for when he gets home from school. :)

It's official...Nothing is Safe

There are a lot of great things about having a big baby boy......
1. Everyone seems proud of me, like I did something right.
2. He doesn't seem as breakable as a little baby.
3. It has been fun watching him achieve all his physical milestones a little early, and I am sure there are more.
But there is a BIG drawback....Miles is so tall, that at nine months he can now officially climb onto our couches, which means pretty much everything is accessible.

I tried to shoot a video, but he was so distracted by the video camera that he wouldn't climb for anything, not even my cell phone. :)

Play Time in Mom's Bed

Our neighbors are doing construction on their house. So today there was some sort of machine on the construction workers truck outside our front door. Not only was it loud, but it was slowly filling my living room with the smell of emissions. (Our door is a little drafty) So I opened the window to the back patio, turned on the fan in the living room, and Miles and I headed upstairs to play.

I brought the camera along because Miles isn't so easily entertained these days unless he is climbing onto something. But the camera is always a winner. Here is a slideshow of some of his highlight shots. Hope you enjoy! It was a good time for me.

31.25 and using every inch....

Roseola no more! Miles doesn't have a rash any more from his Roseola attack over the weekend, Hooray! He looks just as cute as ever. The one good thing that came out of the whole event is that we got his 9 month appointment over with at his sick visit. We were scheduled for next week, so she took all his measurements right then and there.

Miles is off the charts tall (he has done that once before). He is 31.25 inches. The woman even measured him twice to be sure. Then she asked me if my husband was really tall, nope, my son is just freakishly big. He also weighed in at 21.2 pounds, good job kiddo. He definitely uses every inch of his height as he meanders around the house....
How cute are those little legs? He doesn't like to wear his pants around the house anymore since he learned how to crawl. They make him slip on the hardwood, so instead he wears a jacket all the time.
